Schools of Support
Schools of Support is a concept of collaboration between schools to share, collaborate and celebrate the gifts of service learning. Schools work together to provide a wide array of experiences and resources for students. The concept of Schools of Support is based in the belief that service learning offers students-
- Personal Growth: self esteem, responsibility, values and beliefs. Social Growth: communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intellectual Growth: critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Citizenship: civic responsibility, awareness of community needs and individual contributions to a larger society.
- Workplace preparation/career exploration: consistency and regular attendance, skills related to specific jobs, career exploration and problem solving skills.
